FAQ Thermage® FLX Treatment

Your Secret Concerns

FAQS

When will I see the results and how long will they last?

You will see an immediate effect and the results will improve gradually over the next 4 to 6 months after just one treatment session.(1,6) The results are in general permanent but also depend on your individual lifestyle.Your existing skin condition and where you are in the aging process may affect the durability of results.

How many treatments will I need?

A single treatment (lasting 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the treatment area) can usually deliver outstanding results.

Will it hurt?

The Thermage® FLX device has a cooling, vibrating tip suitable for the face + body, shown to provide patient comfort (2,4). After an initial, brief heating sensation, you’ll feel a cooling sensation that will help protect your skin + minimize any discomfort.

What kind of results can I expect?

Results will depend primarily on your skin condition(s) and are multifactorial. The skin tightening effect will be immediately visible after the treatment and will keep improving over time (1,5).

Depending on the treated areas you can expect:

  • Overall younger looking appearance,
  • Smoother, tighter skin + reduced sagging,
  • More defined jawline + contoured chin.
  • Softened wrinkles + fine lines around the mouth,
    eyes, forehead + knees.
  • Tightened skin around the neck, arms + buttocks.

Are there any typical side effects?

Some patients have temporary redness or minor swelling after treatment, but this usually goes away within 5 days.

What about downtime?

Most patients return to their regular activities immediately following treatment (2). No special care is required afterwards, aside from basic skin maintenance + broad spectrum sunscreens as part of a regular skincare regimen.

What can I do before the treatment to get the best results?

Ensure your skin is properly hydrated before your treatment. Begin by drinking 2- 3 liters of water daily in the days leading up to your appointment.
Additionally, it’s important to avoid alcohol and limit sun exposure during this period for the best results.

What should I do after the treatment?

Continue your regular skin care routine, focusing on maintaining good hydration and avoiding prolonged sun exposure.
